Capitalism is the direct consequence of massive human overpopulation/overconsumption on a finite planet, and the unfortunate transition from the ecologically balanced self-sustaining migratory Hunter-Gatherer egalitarian clan/band lifeway to the unsustainable energy extraction and depletion necessary to support ever larger hierarchical sedentary populations. Have a blessed day.

Thanks for the comment, Dr. Miklashek! Would you say that capitalism is also a CAUSE of human overpopulation and overconsumption, in addition to being a consequence of it?

Good point! Have a blessed day. Capitalism thrives and depends on overpopulation, as it drives increased consumption like there were no limits and shoved down our throats like we’re farmed for our livers. However, there was an ecological balance in our ancestral migratory Hunter-Gatherer clans/bands and we/they were selfsustaining, so very unlike us. We could say that they are locked in a death grip destroying all life on the planet by the end of this century. due to climate collapse. also willfully locked; in that death grip.
